Chef William J. Young and Felicia R. Wilson Young , PhD are both native Washingtonians. Both have a heart of Gold and are known to be in the "people development business"- meaning they love to help those in need. They have lived and traveled around the world helping vulnerable populations -women and children and mentoring young men in Guatemala, Bangladesh and Afghanistan to create better lives through educational opportunities, encouragement and spiritual renewal. Often they are called upon to support others through trying times and family situations. Now is the time to help them in their hour of need.
Since they married five years ago, Will and Felicia have desired to be parents. After multiple fertility attempts, mended hearts and prayer, the couple realized that their desire to be parents would best be fulfilled through Adoption. Trusting God while moving forward, they were able to save money and were finally matched with a birth mother. The birth mom desired a couple who valued education, was loving, adventurous, and whose hearts were committed to Christ. After years of deferred hope, Felicia and Will were blessed with the gift of William Princeton Alexander to nurture and love as their own.
After 5 months of Faithful parenting and ultimate JOY, Felicia and Will received a call from the adoption agency informing them that the birthfather had surfaced and decided that he wanted to raise his child. Though they are not clear of all the circumstances regarding the relationship of the birth father and mother - they were informed at the time of adoption that the birthfather had no interest in parenting and did not want to be a part of the child's life.
Now the couple is faced with a tumultuous and terrifying legal battle over the adoption and custody of William Princeton Alexander. They are standing in faith and trusting that the legal system will decide in the "best interest of the child".
They believe that the best interest for William Princeton Alexander is to remain with the only parents he has known for his short life. The parents, who love him, make him laugh, dry his tears, and clean his messes. To remain in a loving and secure environment with parents that care for him through faith, and perseverance; parents whose very breath is bated daily to move mountains to provide him with every opportunity. Parents who have a supportive community of friends and family to help him become the best possible human being he chooses to be.
Please support this beautiful family and share with family and friends who may be willing to help. They have only 20 Days to raise $25,000 which is the estimated cost of a retainer and legal fees to defend their case. The legal team must gather information and diligently research and provide the best defense for the completion of the adoption.
Felicia and Will have expended their life's savings in adoption fees and in caring for their son. Your donation will be a testament to the reciprocity of giving.
Luke 6:38
Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full--pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back."
