Bring Felicity home ❤️

Donation protected

After 3 years of waiting, we are so grateful to finally adopt Felicity into our family!

We have been open to adoption since our engagement. We figure that there are many children who need families, and that’s what we will have to offer. But we never thought it would happen this way. Through the foster care system, Joe’s parents brought Felicity home from the hospital and have been caring for her since birth.

Little Inside Story

Corinne secretly told God that if He really wanted them to be open to adopting Felicity, after 9 days of prayer Joe would have to give her a single red rose on April 6th (the birthday of one of her favorite role models, Pier Giorgio Frassati). While Joe is an awesome husband that makes his love known to Corinne regularly, it typically comes in forms of house cleaning and occasionally a bouquet of flowers, but not red roses. Out of the blue, on April 6th, the exact sign was given. We were both a little shocked, to say the least!

Now’s the Time!

Now it is happening so quickly. The adoption process is underway and will be finalized this summer.

Felicity will have 2 big sisters: Chiara, age 3 (only 7 months older than Felicity) and Marysia, age 5. Both adore her and cannot wait to welcome her home as their sister. She’ll also have a little brother, Charlie, who is 10 months now, has no idea what is going on, but is such a jolly little fellow.

Many of you know that we founded, and work for, a non-profit organization called the John Paul II Project (www.jp2project.org) and our fundraising work supports that beautiful mission. Now we ask our family and friends (and their friends) to support our family mission. If you can help make this adoption less of a financial burden by any contribution, we would be so grateful!

Costs for Felicity’s Adoption:

1. The bulk is for court filing fees and attorney fees, amounting to $4835.
2. We’ve invested in a familiarization visit to spend 8 days with Felicity down in Florida, so she could get to know and bond with our whole family. The flights and hotel for this visit cost $1338 total.
3. For the first couple months after placement, we will need some household help. This is because we need to foster attachment with Felicity during this critical stage, while also maintaining the attachment with our 3 other children, one of whom will still be breastfeeding! The estimated cost to help keep our chaotic house in some order is about $1300.

Why GoFundMe?

We love the idea of doing some creative community fundraising project or applying for an adoption grant. Our blessed problem is the timeline of the adoption. Many of those require the home study to be completed already, but not for the placement to happen. We’re currently waiting for our home study to be scheduled. But as soon as that occurs, since this process is happening through family, Felicity is able to be placed with us immediately. That throws our eligibility for adoption fundraisers or grants out of the question, and thus our resorting to this classic gofundme page.

If you cannot give financially, but have another way you would like to help us, we are all open!

To our family and friends and strangers who are giving and spreading the word: we thank you in advance.

You will be in our daily family prayers each day of this adoption process!

God bless you,
Joe, Corinne, Marysia, Chiara & Charlie, and most of all, Felicity.

PS Please don't forget to share this with all your friends and family! That alone is a HUGE help!
