Help Mitch rebuild his home
Donation protected
Everyone is aware of the recent floods that have occurred in South East Qld and you may well know someone affected by the floods. The speed the flood waters rose and levels they achieved in such a short period of time took most by surprise and left many little or no time to evacuate themselves and/or possessions.
This fundraiser is for a local Brookfield resident on Moggill Road who has been severely affected by the recent flooding event. He is well known in all surrounding areas, including Kenmore, Bellbowrie, Pullenvale. This is not only because of his dog training skills but also due to his recognisable 'white fence' opposite the nursery and next to the mower place.
This property owner is an ex-police dog handler, respected dog trainer and an all-around great bloke. He is always the first to put his hand up to help anyone. Unfortunately, the owner has only been in this house for less than two years and has seen the recent floods envelop his home up to the gutters on the second floor. The house is completely gutted and he has lost the entire contents of the property.
Over the last few days, we have had so many volunteers helping to empty the contents, clean the property of the mud left behind, and strip the gyprock from the walls.
Too proud to ask for help, this fundraiser is to go towards the cost of rebuilding the property and to help fund the replacement of some of the many contents that have been destroyed.
The amount has been set at $50k, but any amount, whether more or less, will make a huge difference to help him get back on his feet.
I really appreciate any help you can provide.
