Children with disabilities in Suffolk and the surrounding areas have almost no indoor places where they can play safely, comfortably, and without judgment. Most indoor parks are too loud, overstimulating, or not accessible for children who use walkers, wheelchairs, gait trainers, or medical devices. Many parents of autistic children avoid public places because of sensory overload, meltdowns, or fear of being stared at. GlowSteps Playland is being created to solve these challenges. It will be the first disability-only indoor playpark in Suffolk — a sensory-safe, accessible space designed specifically for autism, sensory needs, Down syndrome, developmental delays, medical challenges, and mobility disabilities. While this playpark is exclusively for disability children, siblings or family members who accompany a child with disabilities will also be welcomed, so that families can enjoy the space together without separation. Our community deserves a place where disability children can play, explore, and belong — and where their families can feel safe, supported, and included.

The funds raised will go directly toward building and equipping GlowSteps Playland so disability children finally have a safe, sensory-friendly indoor space made just for them. Every dollar will help transform an empty building into a fully accessible, child-centered play environment. Donations will help with renovations, sensory-friendly equipment, accessibility features, and the necessary permits and business setup. Every contribution helps create a glowing, sensory-safe world where disability children — and the siblings who accompany them — can play, grow, and feel included.
