Glenn's Bungee Jump
on the 20th September I will be doing a bungee jump to raise money for Hurt (Have your tomorrows) in support people and families with addiction issues, below is a little of why.
I’m sorry for the essay hat will follow but I write this unedited, and I tend to ramble.
There's a few moments in life that you remember exactly where you were when you heard the news, Gareth’s passing was one of them.
When my mum rang me to tell me Gareth has gone missing, I believed that it was another one of his stunts, going off for a few days because he got in a row with some, or hiding out because he owned the wrong people money.
However, the more the day went on and no one heard anything from Gareth, my mood changed, the atmosphere changed and before we got any confirmation a few days later, I knew it was true, I knew he was dead, something inside of me was broken that day and I don’t think it has ever recovered.
A few days later I was on my way to work and received a phone call from my sister Ciara, she told me that they had found Gareth’s body and that we had to go and confirm it was him, I drove to my mums as fast as I could and thinking back, I probably broke a few driving laws getting there, Gareth’s body was found in the water.
As I sit here writing this, I can barely see the screen as my eyes are filling with tears, Gareth was a troubled soul and although are relationship was not always good, we loved each other and as I have said before he was my first best friend.
