My name is Josh Newton and I am currently a year 12 student at Haberdashers' Adams, Newport. During the summer of 2026 myself and other students have been given the opportunity to go on a 4 week trek to Cambodia with Camps International. This would involve community and environmental work, where we would work alongside Cambodian communities, a jungle trek through the Cambodian jungle and learning about the Cambodian culture.
Who are Camps International?
Camps International are award winning global leaders in ethical and sustainable school expeditions. They offer fully supported
school expeditions, to industry leading safety standards, across Africa, Asia and Latin America, providing an authentic cultural
experience for every travelling student.
Where will we be going and what will we be doing?
Cambodia is a true gem of South East Asia, with its welcoming culture, lush green jungle and mystical temples – it’s truly a fascinating country to explore. Our trek through the vibrant Cambodian jungle will be an adventure we’ll never forget.
During this eye-opening expedition we will work closely with rural Cambodian communities to support community development, whilst learning about Cambodia’s rich culture and turbulent history at the world famous Angkor Wat temples, S21 Prison and Killing Fields. We‘ll also take on the challenge of an adventurous trek through the jungle, giving us the chance to test the limits of our comfort zones in a spectacular environment.
Any donations would be gratefully appreciated. Thank you.
