Like you, my team at Collette McDonald and Associates has been watching recent events unfold, feeling it all and wondering what the next few months have in store for the people, businesses and community we know, love and have leaned on in the past to contribute to our passion projects and charities. Since its inception Brookhaven has been a community full of smart, caring individuals. And for those of you that know me, you know I am a doer, a problem solver! So, my team has been brainstorming ways to help our community through these unique times, while still allowing a safe "social distance." We've come up with an idea and would like to ask for your support!
We'd like to support both the vibrant businesses that help this community thrive, while simultaneously supporting our first responders - health care workers, police, firefighters and grocery store workers - with sustenance. With this go fund me, we will pool our collective resources to purchase food starting from our local Brookhaven restaurants, to then deliver meals to the front line workers keeping our citizens safe and healthy.
Our goal is to raise $20,000 to start the process of delivering meals daily, on a revolving basis for the following first responders:
Health Care Facilities
Police Force
Firefighters
Grocery Store Workers
Myself and my family, along with my Collette McDonald and Associates team will take on the responsibility of corresponding with restaurants and first responders to create schedules, place orders, and make deliveries. I will also provide weekly updates via Go Fund Me regarding our efforts, along with photos whenever possible!
A personal passion project of ours has also been feeding the Brookhaven Police during the holidays by getting donations from some of the finest restaurants in Brookhaven. Now is the time for us to give back to THEM, while showing first responders how much we care. The businesses who have given to feed the Brookhaven Police in the past are: Publix, Kroger, Pure, BUA, THERE, Costco, Kroger, and ColdStone just to name a few. They will be among the first we help in these times. However, I also want to hear from you! Please provide the names of other local restaurants and businesses that have given back to YOUR organizations in the past year so we can help them too.
