Help a Hardworking Family Get Back on Their Feet

Support rent, school supplies, and medical needs for a family of five in Phoenix

A few years ago, I posted a pair of Jordan sneakers on Facebook Marketplace — and what started as a simple exchange turned into something much more meaningful. I met an incredible family in Phoenix: two parents and three amazing kids who have become friends over the years.

Recently, both parents lost their jobs, and the mother—who also lost her healthcare coverage—is dealing with ongoing medical issues that need attention. They’re doing everything they can to stay afloat, but the weight of rent, medical bills, and back-to-school costs for three children is becoming overwhelming.

This family isn’t asking for help—but I saw a post from the mother that broke my heart. She wrote about how grateful her children are for anything they receive, how they never complain, and how blessed she feels to have such understanding kids. That’s when I knew I had to step in and try to rally support on their behalf.

Two of the children are teen athletes, and anyone with kids in sports knows the price of gear, training, and travel. The youngest ones need school supplies to start the year off right. They’ve put together an Amazon wish list, and we’re also hoping to help with a portion of their rent to relieve immediate pressure on the family.

The goal is $2,200 to start, which will help cover:

• Rent assistance

• School supplies from their Amazon wish list

• Athletic gear and basic necessities

• Medical-related needs for the mother
