My name is Chris and I am doing a Go Fund Me to help out a friend of mine. I met her when she and her wife first became foster parents. They ended up adopting 3 children, all who were identified as having birth issues. One suffered shaken baby and had spinal cord injuries and had a short life expectancy. The other two suffered from prenatal drug abuse from the bio mom and have emotional and educational concerns.

In 2021 the child with spinal injury passed away. 6 months later one of the adoptive moms suddenly passed away. The remaining family (mom and 2 kids) have struggled both emotionally and financially. You see the mom who passed away was the breadwinner while the one that remains took care of the children’s emotional, social, psychological and educational needs.

This year has been a financial nightmare culminating in the loss of the home the family had built for their life together. After losing the primary home they moved into a rental home. They lost that home due to the young autistic child painting on his bedroom carpet. When the landlord saw this he gave them 72 hrs to vacate. Then they moved into an apartment.

These moves have left the adoptive mom with a big financial burden. She knows that if she can get ahead that she will be able to stay caught up.
