David Richard Nuñez, a husband, a father, a son, a brother and a friend, created the Giving Snowman many years ago when I was working at my previous school as their school counselor. That year, I had a particularly high homeless population, so David (who struggled with homelessness as a child) took it upon himself to talk his company into sponsoring the families at my school. That year we helped 35 families and over 100 kids by providing toys, clothes, food and gift cards. The tradition continued for years with the support of David's company. Tragically David died young, at the age of 38. His wonderful company continued to honor his memory by sponsoring our local families at our different schools. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic prevented his company from being able to fully support us moving forward. At the same time—due to the same pandemic—homelessness in Massachusetts rose rapidly.
Going into our 17th year, my children and I continue to honor David's spirit of giving to those in need, which is greatly needed. David had the gift of making everyone feel like he was their best friend. He was a unique soul who lived much of a life in his 38 years. He was incredibly generous, if he had $30 left for the entire week, he would share it all with you. Over the years, The Giving Snowman has helped over 245 families and well over 1,000 children. Any support helps.
*As always, this year 100% of these funds go directly to our local school/s and families in most need. Thank you all so much...
Judith, Adam & Lila (in loving memory of the man who changed the lives of others)
