Sweet baby Maddie should be discovering the world one tiny step at a time—but instead, she’s facing a challenge no child should have to endure.

Maddie has been diagnosed with hip dysplasia in her left hip, a condition where the hip joint hasn’t formed properly. Without treatment, this can lead to pain, difficulty walking, and long-term complications as she grows. To give her the chance at a healthy, active childhood, Maddie now needs an open reduction surgery with Femoral various osteotomy —a major procedure that involves cutting open the groin to take away the cartilage and tissue. They will then try to put the leg bone and hip socket together. Maddie will then be in a spica cast which is from her waist down to her ankles.

As you can imagine, this is an incredibly emotional and overwhelming time for her family. Watching your baby go through surgery is something no parent is ever prepared for. But they are staying strong for Maddie, focusing on what matters most: giving her the best possible future.

The surgery itself is just the beginning. Maddie will also need time to heal, follow-up care, and support during her recovery. This will mean Maddie will need 1 to 1 care around the clock, which will result in Maddies parents having time away from work this is placing a significant financial strain on the family.
