Hi, my name is Jamie, and I’m raising funds for our mom, an extraordinary woman who has spent her entire life putting everyone else before herself.

Our mom is a widow raising three sons, and despite living with stage 4 COPD and ongoing neurological nerve issues, she continues to show up for us every single day. In 2018, our lives changed forever when our dad was diagnosed with terminal stage 4 lung cancer that had spread to his liver and bones. From the moment we found out, Mum dedicated herself completely to caring for him and to making sure we got every possible moment with our dad. Even as her own health declined, she never left his side. Nurses repeatedly told her to go home and rest, but she refused instead choosing to care for the love of her life until the very end.

Just five months after his diagnosis, and only twelve days after they were finally able to marry, our dad passed away in Moms arms. The pain of that moment is something we will carry forever. Losing our dad so suddenly was devastating for my brothers and me, but Mom’s world was completely shattered.

Yet this strength didn’t come from an easy life. From a young age, Mom faced more hardship than most people ever should. She was placed into care through no fault of her own and moved from care home to care home. At just 15 years old, she was given a council flat and forced to learn how to survive on her own. At 18, she became pregnant, only to experience the unimaginable loss of a stillborn baby at 26 weeks. After spending eight years in an abusive and volatile relationship, she finally found her soulmate, our dad,and they shared 18 loving years together before he was taken far too soon at the age of 39.

Even after everything she has endured, Mom rarely complains and never asks for anything. She continues to put us first, making sure we are supported, loved, and never feel alone. She stepped up to fill the enormous void our dad left behind, especially when other family members couldn’t. Her kindness, resilience, and selflessness are truly unmatched.

We are hoping to raise some money to give our mom something she can genuinely enjoy, like a small family trip, a meaningful experience, or simply a memory she can hold onto during the harder days. This isn’t about luxury. It’s about giving back to someone who has given us absolutely everything, even when she had nothing left to give.
