We are in our 6th year of raising money for the BATI School in Haiti. For those who aren't familiar with this fundraiser, here is a brief introduction:
In 2019, my brother and I set out to make a difference in the world. We grew up going to a Christian school. The school we attended, Advent Lutheran School in Boca Raton, had an international outreach program called Village of Hope & Medical Center in Haiti. They had a trip every year in May and sent volunteers to the Village of Hope in Haiti. After hearing some of the amazing stories from friends who went on this trip, we decided to look for a charity that we could help. After a thorough search to find a charity that fit our beliefs, we found the BATI School in St. Michel, Haiti. Their 501(c)(3) non-profit provides free, localized education for students through a sustainable farm-funded financial design. The school opened in 2017 with 62 students and has grown to 120 students with ages 6-14. We asked BATI what they could use to help give their students a better life. They asked for Christmas gifts for the students. Christmas for a child can be one of the most magical times of the year. It always was for us since we were blessed to get plenty of gifts. Our goal was to provide a gift for each student. These gifts are sent to Haiti every November and given out in December. Over the last 5 years, we have raised over $20,000 and purchased over 175 gifts per year.
With your help and support, we are looking forward to another successful year. If you have any toys you would like to donate, we can arrange to pick them up. If you prefer to donate money, we will do the shopping for you.
Donations are typically 100% tax-deductible in the US. Your donation is made to PayPal Giving Fund (a 501(c)(3) charitable organization) to benefit your chosen charity.
