Hi, I’m Zerina, the founder of Za Records, a record label committed to providing creative outlets and musical opportunities for inner-city youth. As a nurse, I have seen firsthand how crucial mental and emotional health are in healing and growth, and I truly believe in the power of music to nurture both. Music was my refuge through personal struggles with depression, trauma, and adversity, and it gave me a voice when I felt voiceless. Today, I’m using my experience to provide that same healing and opportunity to young people in underserved communities.

Growing up, music saved my life—it gave me a space to process pain and express myself. Now, I want to ensure that young people in underserved communities, particularly those in inner cities, have that same opportunity to heal, grow, and thrive. Za Records is more than just a label; it’s a place where youth can develop their creative talents, build confidence, and gain mentorship in a safe, supportive environment.

Our mission is simple: to empower young people through music, providing them with access to instruments, lessons, studio space, and mentorship—resources that many inner-city youth may not otherwise have access to.
