Hi,

Our names are Mari & Haig.

Together we are trying to raise money for 5 solar water heaters for the village of Svarants in Armenia's Syunik region.

We are fundraising in collaboration with the Tufenkian Foundation, and the UNDP to bring clean, efficient, environmentally friendly and reliable hot water to these villagers!

Your donation will be doubled, thanks to a generous matching commitment from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Armenia!

Why does Svarants need solar water heaters? Because there is no reliable source of hot water in the village.

How do they work? The solar water heaters we want to bring are powered by UV radiation. This means that they work come rain or shine.

What more will this bring to the village? More than just a providing a reliable source of hot water, they will reduce energy bills in an environmentally  sustainable way.

What are the details?

A solar water heater can reduce your water heating costs by 50–80%, depending on your location, system type, and usage.

There will be long-term payback. While upfront costs may be higher than electric or gas heaters, solar systems typically pay for themselves in 4–7 years, after which the hot water is essentially free.

There are huge environmental benefits. A solar water heater can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by up to 4 tons per year per household, contributing to climate change mitigation.

And whats best, low maintenance and long lifespan. With minimal moving parts, solar water heaters generally require little maintenance and have a lifespan of 15–20 years.

The two of us are only trying to raise funds for 5 solar heaters. Each unit costs cost £1,100 each. Altogether we are going to buy more than 60 solar heaters, one for every single house in Svarants!

This is a really simple, but fundamentally life-changing piece of infrastructure.

Please support us!!!
Thank you so much,

Mari & Haig
