Some of you visiting this page may already know about our work, and to those discovering us for the first time, welcome.

Starlight Family is a grassroots charitable organisation in the Kiboga District of Uganda. For more than a decade, we have supported some of the most vulnerable members of our community, including orphans, at-risk teenage girls, elderly people, and individuals living with disabilities.

Today, we are asking for your help with one of the most urgent challenges facing our community: access to clean, reliable water.

Water scarcity continues to impact health, sanitation, education, food security, and agricultural productivity for thousands of families.

Our Story

My name is Lukyamuzi James, Founder and Director of Starlight Family.

I lost my parents during the political conflicts of the 1980s. Growing up without support and security, I have dedicated my life to helping others facing similar hardships. Starlight Family was created from that commitment, to provide hope, opportunity, and practical support to those who need it most.

Today, we are launching a vital water infrastructure project that will transform the lives of approximately 5,000 people in our community, including the children we care for here at the Starlight Family Orphanage in Kiboga.

Our Goal

We are seeking to raise 25,900,000 UGX (approximately $7,000 USD / £5,000 GBP) to fund a sustainable water access project that will provide lasting benefits for generations to come.

How your support will help us:

Renovate and develop an existing spring well

Provide a reliable source of clean, filtered and safe water for approximately 5,000 community members.

Support local agriculture

Improve access to water for farmers, livestock, poultry, and irrigation, helping families increase food production and income.

☀️ Install solar-powered water distribution

Create an efficient and environmentally sustainable pumping system.

Improve water infrastructure and sanitation

Expand water storage capacity and improve access points for the wider community and local school facilities.

Provide sustainability training

Educate community members on water management, maintenance, and conservation to ensure the long-term success of the project.
