Give Stability to a Homeless Senior
Donation protected
The photo above is my mom, me, and my sister from 1976. My mom was a single mother at the age of 19 with a one-year-old (me) and my two-year-old sister. She dropped out of high school at age 16 when she became pregnant with my sister. She always worked two or three jobs to make ends meet and provide for us. While we had very little, she was able to make sure our needs were mostly met. I've never seen anyone work as hard as she has throughout her entire life. Today, at age 72, she is homeless and living in her car behind a big box store.
Unfortunately, I'm not in a financial position to help her much, but I'm trying to help her find an apartment for $500 a month and pay her security deposit and three months' rent. I just learned that her car is having serious mechanical issues and has bald tires so we need to address that situation as well. She lives off her Social Security.
I'm looking to the community to provide any amount of support to help her live in a safer place with stability. She currently lives in Green Bay. Thank you in advance!
