Our family is facing a heartbreaking reality. My son‑in‑law, Mark, is only 43 years old and living with Motor Neurone Disease — a devastating illness that is taking him from his wife, Nadine, and their three children far too soon.

Mark is a devoted husband and a loving father to Courtney, Alexis, and Brooke. He has always been the kind of dad who shows up, who laughs with his children, who supports them, and who fills their home with warmth. Watching him lose his strength while his children try to understand why their dad is slipping away has been one of the hardest things our family has ever faced.

With only my daughter’s income to support the household, and with the growing costs of care, equipment, and daily needs, the financial pressure is overwhelming. Yet the children have so many things they dream of doing with their dad while they still can — moments that will become treasured memories for the rest of their lives.

One of Mark’s lifelong passions has been Liverpool Football Club. It would mean the world to him, and to the children, to attend a Liverpool match together — something he has dreamed of sharing with them. They also hope to take him to the coast to watch the sunset over the sea, a simple but deeply meaningful moment they want to hold onto. And at the top of their bucket list is a trip to Spain, a place Mark has always wanted to experience with his family.

These are not extravagant wishes. They are the last memories a young family hopes to make with the man they love.
