Give Mario a second chance
Donation protected
UPDATE: Thank you guys so much! Mario initially declined the money because he felt like he didn't deserve it. It took about six months for him to come to terms and realize he wouldn't be able to live much longer on the streets and graciously accepted the money. He's beyond thankful to say the least. I got him into an apartment and we are currently job hunting together but we could use some more help. Whether its sharing our story, donating, or helping us find him a job in the Hollywood LA area that doesn't require heavy lifting we'd greatly appreciate it!
LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!
Mario is a 68 year old homeless veteran who changed my life & I’m hoping to find a way to help this man get back on his feet.
We met 6 months ago outside a Panda Express and getting to know him I’ve learned he his one of the most genuine, intentional, and poetic humans I’ve ever met. We met when he asked if he could borrow money for dinner which I agreed to but his energy was so compelling it made me go inside where we ate and talked for hours until panda closed. I promised him that night we’d get suits and go see live jazz music for his birthday which he hadn’t done in over 2 decades. A few weeks later I went to see him and he made me take back the money I gave him for panda despite the fact he hadn’t been able to afford to eat that day. He works every night for 16 hours unpaid as an security guard in exchange for a safe place to sleep in his tent but I’m hoping to get him an apartment so he can work a job that could support himself. I believe everyone deserves a second chance in life and he deserves to spend the rest of his days listening to jazz records and writing poetry from the comfort of his home.
