My name is Cheryl Robinson. I’m a regional Director with the Airline Ambassador International program. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working closely with Maria and the incredible children that she cares for in Johannesburg, South Africa. I’ve seen her struggles, their unbreakable spirit, and their dreams of simply having a safe place to sleep.

Maria’s orphanage is being rebuilt into a permanent two-story home. Thanks to the many generous hearts around the world, we have raised over $50,000. The walls are up, the foundation is strong, but the second story is still unfinished. There have been many setbacks in building the orphanage. We’ve had weather delays and financial delays.

For the past two years, these children have been sleeping inside a tiny metal shipping container, through freezing winter nights, the scorching summer heat, and heavy rains that soak their blankets. When the storms roll in and the wind rattles the thin walls, rain leaks through the roof. Still, they smile, still they pray for a real home.

Please help us provide a home for them by Christmas. The children do not ask for toys or presents; they are just praying for a roof, a warm bed, and a safe place to belong.

This Christmas, we have the chance to give them something they will remember for a lifetime: a “real home.”
