Hello Float friends and family. This is the kinda fundraiser that I never wanted to have to make. But unfortunately I am doing so because of the loss of one of our fellow float members. Illyaas Brewer (aka I’m ILL) was involved in an accident on his E-Bike this Sunday evening, that resulted in him losing his life.
From what we know, it sounds like he was riding with all of his gear on and was heading to go meet up with some other riders. While on his way something happened to cause him to clip the curb which caused a reaction that sent him inwards and into a pole that made contact with his helmet. When Paramedics arrived he was still breathing but not conscious and shortly after ended up passing from his injuries. No exact conclusion on why, but this along with a past accident he had may have caused serious complications in his head of some kind.
Illyaas was a Father, Husband, brother, and son in his family. And was a Brother in our Float family as well. He was always ready to go ride and absolutely loved his bike when he got it and became even more hooked after meeting the Palmetto Lithium Cartel. From fast rides in the preserves to just chill rides on the road and stops at kava and random benches, he was always down to hang and be with the group. He had talked for months about coming up and riding with the St. Pete Float Fleet and a few weeks ago his schedule worked out and he was able to come. He had so much fun that he ended up getting his schedule changed so that he could start attending every week. He was ready for an amazing weekend in Miami for StokeBird with custom jersey purchases and all. (His jersey will be with us next week for memories and honor)
With all that being said, we here in the Fleet and our PEV community consider ourselves family, and I would like to try and help his family by raising the funds to help out in this hard time. I set a goal but the sky is the limit. Everything will be going to his wife and children to help with whatever expenses and needs they have with this loss.
To all my PEV family, friends, freaks, and floaters be safe and make sure to hug your friends and don’t be afraid to say I love you.
To ILL, OneLove my brother and RIP, please ride with us anytime and watch over us while floating and cruising in your own paradise above.
