Hi neighbors - I was the one posting in defense of a single mom the other day.
Today she got an eviction notice. I work in the legal field and the notice is proper. It is due to her income being higher than threshold for the apartments she is in. She has roughly 10 days to move with 4 kids (all very young).
She has called Love Inc. she has called other places. She called management company to beg for extended time to find a place to live. She had been told they can’t help so quickly that she has to go to a shelter. If any of you have been to a shelter I think you can relate to why that isn’t ideal with 4 babies/toddlers.
She needs information, help, resources, guidance. Anything to help her find a home she can afford and she can move to. I don’t think she’s asking for money - but money certainly can help. I can verify she is real - she currently lives off tamiami where Lee and collier meet. She is willing to move to any area, and can pay $1,500 in rent. She does not have first last and deposit but can make payments. She has no pets. She is gainfully employed (about 17$ an hour) in a work from home position. She has good rental history.
If you have a small place to rent that you would be able to work around the above please respond.
If you know of an agency that will help emergently That is not a shelter status, please respond.
If you want more details I can connect you to her. She had reached out to a few of us and spoken about this situation. Since it is her situation I won’t post details but if you want them before you offer help by all means please post and I’ll connect you.
If you’re an attorney who is willing to give her pro bono representation to perhaps get her more time where she is, please comment.
If you think she is a scam, please DM me and I’ll talk to you about it.
If you think she’s a bad mom who needs authorities called, please DM me and we can privately discuss. Please don’t post that here. She’s cried for about 5 days solid for the circumstance she’s in (unexpectedly).
Anything can help. You may not know how much just kindness helps.
Update: I think I’ve found a possible rental in Lehigh. It’s 1450 per month with first and last to move in. For those of you who WANT to donate cash then she needs $2,900 plus the $100-150 app fee to move in. She makes enough to pay the rent if approved.
I’ve made this fund raised for $4,000 to get her enough to pay first and las rent, app fees and possible utility deposits.
