A Story of Survival, Faith, and a Mother Fighting Her Way Back

I want to share something real, something that moved me in a way I can’t even fully explain. There’s a single mother of three who has been homeless for over a year now. Her life flipped upside down after her home became a victim of gun violence. One moment she had a place for her kids to sleep… the next moment everything was gone. No warning, no backup plan, just trauma and survival. But what makes her story even deeper is what she had already been fighting long before she lost her home. She’s battled mental health struggles. She’s overcome addiction. She has walked through some of the hardest seasons a person could go through and somehow still kept her heart soft, her faith alive, and her love for her children as her fuel.

She joined a Christian-based program called New Life, New Hope, which is part of the homeless shelter she’s living in right now. And that program became a turning point for her. It wasn’t easy. It wasn’t overnight. But step by step, she started healing. She started believing in herself again. She started fighting not just to survive, but to truly change her life. I was blessed to hear her testimony at her graduation, and honestly, it brought tears to my eyes. Hearing her speak about everything she’s been through—the trauma, the addiction, the mental battles, the moments she felt alone—and then seeing the strength she carries now… it touched my heart in a way I won’t forget. She has this spirit on her, this quiet beauty, this determination that’s rare. You can feel her growth. You can feel her faith. You can feel how hard she wants to give her kids a better life. She posts videos about her journey and her transformation, and every time I see one, I’m reminded of how far she’s come. But the truth is… she’s still struggling. She’s still homeless. She’s still looking for a job, still trying to find housing, still trying to get a car so she can take care of her kids the way she wants to. This woman has survived things that would break most people. And she’s still standing. Still fighting. Still trying. That alone deserves help.

I reached out to the director of the New Life, New Hope program, and I got permission to do this for her. I’m choosing to do it anonymously because this isn’t about credit; it’s about seeing someone trying so hard and wanting to lift them up. If anyone feels led to support this mother and her three babies—whether through donations, sharing this, offering resources, or even praying for them—I know she would be beyond grateful. Every bit of help moves her closer to stability, closer to a home, closer to a new life that she’s already been working so hard to build.

I’ll also share a link where you can hear her full story, because once you hear it, you’ll understand why she touched my heart the way she did.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. Thank you for caring. And thank you for helping a woman who has already come so far, and still has dreams worth fighting for.
