Give Dominican Families a Home
Donation protected

For the past 30 years, Solidarité Jeunesse has offered a yearlong training program to raise awareness to the reality of the Third World countries and to introduce young adults to international solidarity. In the Spring of 2019, thirty young people, Lareina included, will participate in a humanitarian trip in the Dominican Republic for 5 weeks constructing houses in the mountain region of El Siebo.
Due to unforeseen illness, Lareina had to stop working as well as her fundraising efforts due to a tumor that ate through 11 inches of her left femur. She underwent emergency surgery in November to replace her femur and has since relearned to walk and be independent. As a result of her rehabilitation she does not have much time to fundraise for her volunteer trip at the end of April and she is not working to be able to fund this on her own. Despite her recent surgery Lareina has worked hard to rebuild her strength to go build homes for the homeless families of the Dominican Republic.
Lareina is a two-time alumni from the University of Ottawa with an Honors Bachelor of Health Sciences and Psychology and spends much of her time helping and supporting others. The money we raise will allow Lareina to build houses for needy families and provide a day camp for children with disabilities.
Such a project cannot exist without the financial contribution of partners who have at heart the education of young people and global and social development. With this, I am asking for your help and hope you will join Lareina and Solidarité Jeunesse in their effort to make a better tomorrow.
