For over two decades, Coach Christopher C. Holmes has been a guiding light in the Mobile, Alabama community. As a beloved middle and high school coach, he didn’t just teach sports he taught life. He mentored, encouraged, and stood in the gap for countless young people, many of whom still call him "Coach" today with deep respect and affection.

But now, Coach Holmes is the one who needs us. Coach Holmes has been battling kidney failure for the past seventeen years. He undergoes dialysis three times a week, with each session lasting five hours. His health challenges have grown more severe over time, including complications from diabetes that led to amputation of his toes. As a result, walking is extremely difficult, and Coach now relies on a wheelchair to get around.

Despite all of this, Coach lives alone and faces a dangerous daily obstacle: a set of steps leading in and out of his home. There is no wheelchair ramp, and he struggles to navigate the stairs on his own, lifting his chair and body each time just to get to dialysis and back. It’s exhausting and unsafe. The man who gave so much to others now needs something simple and essential: safe access to his home.

We’re raising funds mainly to build a wheelchair-accessible ramp for Coach Holmes so he can regain his dignity, safety, and a small piece of independence. This is about more than just a ramp—this is about honoring a man who has spent his life lifting others. It’s our turn to lift him. We will use any remaing funds to other things to help coach with other challenges.
