Help Chuy Beat Cancer

Aimee’s beloved soul dog, Chuy, needs our help. Two weeks ago, Chuy underwent a CT scan and biopsy, and he received the diagnosis: cancer. Specifically, nasal carcinoma. The good news? This is fully treatable.

Chuy still takes long, multi-mile walks. He hikes, he swims, and he even kayaks with Aimee. He would follow his nose to the end of the world if he could. His heart, liver, kidneys, lungs—everything—is strong. He is still so here. That is what makes this diagnosis so devastating. Because nothing about him says it is time.

As they move into treatment, Aimee will need to secure lodging to stay in the Leesburg area for extended periods of time. The additional expenses for travel add up, compounding an already overwhelming financial burden. The funds raised will help cover Chuy’s treatment, medication, gas for travel, and lodging so Aimee can be by his side every step of the way.

For the past 15 years, Aimee has dedicated herself to dog rescue. Anyone who knows her knows that her entire mission is to clear the shelters and save the lives of some of the most vulnerable souls in our community. She has opened her home and heart to dogs who had nowhere else to go.

Over 70 dogs and puppies have come through her door—scared, abandoned, in need of love—and she has helped them find safety, healing, and forever homes. But she did not do it alone - Chuy did it with her. He shared his space, his comfort, his security with every single one of them. He welcomed them in, even when it meant disruption, even when it wasn’t easy. He has been a quiet, patient presence for so many dogs who needed stability.

Now, it's our turn to help. Aimee and Chuy need support from the community they’ve given so much to. If his treatment plan came with suffering, harsh side effects, or a loss of dignity or joy, we would not ask him to endure it. But his treatment allows him to keep his quality of life and grow old the way he deserves—naturally and peacefully.

Any help will make a difference in giving Chuy a chance at a few more years. Thank you for your consideration and support!
