Give Carlos the Dignity of Independence
Donation protected
I’m organizing this fundraiser because I’ve seen firsthand how Carlos shows up for life with strength and grace, even after facing things most of us can’t imagine. A tragic accident changed the course of his life, but not his spirit. He’s doing his best to rebuild, and right now, he finally has a place to call home — but his bathroom isn’t ADA-accessible, and he can’t use it safely on his own.
Carlos lives alone and is doing everything he can to be self-sufficient. But each morning, he still has to rely on someone to come help him start his day — not because he wants to, but because the space he’s in wasn’t built for his needs. That’s not the kind of independence anyone should have to fight for.
This isn’t about work. This isn’t about politics. This is personal. I’m doing this as a friend, a community member, and someone who believes that when people need help, we show up. If you can give, please do. And if you can’t, please share. Carlos deserves to live with the same independence we so often take for granted — and together, we can help him get there.
