Give Back to Brenda: A Lifelong Giver in Need

“Generosity is the most natural outward expression of an inner attitude of compassion and loving-kindness.” – Dalai Lama

There are countless wonderful things that can be said about Brenda, but the one that stands out most and truly captures her remarkable essence is that she ALWAYS puts others first. She is ALWAYS ready to lend a helping hand, no matter how or when she can. Brenda has a heart bigger than Texas, paired with an unrelenting attitude of generosity and care for others. Being around her, you always feel supported, knowing you have a friend and a cheerleader to help you overcome any obstacle and achieve your goals.

Today, Brenda needs our help. She has been silently fighting a battle with a failing liver and kidney as well as dangerous clotting that is contributing to an internal brain hemorrhage. Noting her delicate condition, Brenda and her family are in urgent need of our support.

Brenda is a fighter and would never give up, but the burden of unexpected expenses related to her ongoing care, as well as supporting her son Noel, has put a strain on her ability to maintain her characteristic generosity and strength. In honor of the countless lives Brenda has touched, we now have the opportunity to give back to someone who has so selflessly given of herself.

In coordination with her family, Nancy - Brenda's sister, Megan - Brenda's niece, and Frances Brenda's Mother we are raising $10,000 to help cover living expenses, medical bills, Noel’s upcoming college costs, and, heartbreakingly, funeral expenses when the time comes.

Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference. Please consider donating and sharing this campaign with your network of friends and colleagues who know Brenda. Your support is greatly appreciated and will provide much-needed relief to Brenda and her family during this incredibly difficult time.

If you know Brenda, you don’t need convincing to understand what an extraordinary person she is. I first met Brenda in 2010 while working at Gensler. Brenda poured her heart and soul into making Gensler a fantastic place to work. For many of us, Gensler felt like a home away from home—a place where your role as a teammate became a part of who you were day in and day out. and became the fabric of how you approached everyday life. Brenda was integral to creating that environment and touched countless lives during her time there and beyond.

Brenda has built lifelong friendships with the many people whose lives she has touched, both through her career and within the Houston community. Always seeking to make a difference, she continually found ways to support and serve others. Within the design community, which was such a significant part of her career, she remained actively engaged, not only professionally through recruiting but also by serving the broader community through fundraising events and friendships.

Brenda served on the Board of the SDA (Society of Design Administration) in several capacities, always striving to contribute her time and energy to meaningful causes. She was instrumental in promoting participation in CANstruction, a charitable event benefiting the Houston Food Bank. Additionally, she collected clothing for Dress for Success, gathered toys for children during the holidays, and supported various other charitable foundations.

Community, leadership, and generosity define what it means to be part of any team. Brenda exemplified these values in every aspect of her life. Personally, I am deeply grateful to have crossed paths with her and to have learned so much from her example. Although Brenda has had a remarkable career, her greatest accomplishment has been raising her nephew, Noel, as her own son. Noel is her world, and she has provided him with unwavering love, support, and security.

Brenda is the person you can count on for a reassuring smile, a comforting phone call, and a trustworthy heart full of love. Now, it’s our turn to support Brenda in her time of need. Please join us in this effort to raise funds for our incredible friend. Your kindness and generosity will mean the world to her and her family.

If you have any questions or would like to connect with Brenda’s family, please reach out via the gofund me platform, and we will put you in touch with the family. Thank you so much for your support, compassion, and generosity, it means more than you can ever know. Big Hugs and lots of Love.

With gratitude,
Team Brenda Jimenez
