Help feed families on Ceningan during their Corona virus financial crisis.
In your cheap exciting Bali trips many of the Balinese people that you met/were cooked for by/had your bed made and your sheets changed by/were entertained with Legong dancing by/placed welcome flowers on your bed etc etc. are now facing hunger and despair.
Please donate anything you can, if your Bali trip had cost you $15, $30, $50 or even $100 more at the time you probably would still have gone. Now is your opportunity to show appreciation for your Bali experiences by helping to provide food for them in their absolute time of need.
This is a fundraiser to help as many families on Ceningan as possible. Ceningan is the Island renowned for surfing opportunities, across the yellow bridge from the Island of Lembongan. All food and supplies for these Islands has to be boated across from kusamba Port, which makes getting them more difficult and costly.
My Sister In law Jenny, from Jenny’s Place, (Jenny Ceningan on Face Book), is going to provide boxes of food ( including rice, eggs, cooking oil, noodles & vegetables) to the Banjar (a village council) the Banjar will then give the food boxes to the families. Jenny is resourceful and she will make sure the money is well used and that it is directed in the best way possible.
The money would only be used for food for local people on Ceningan. Food will be purchased from local food sellers on Lembongan or Ceningan, -thereby also contributing to local cash flow. Some food will need to be purchased from Bali itself. Food boxes containing rice, vegetables, Tofu, Tempeh, Eggs, meat, fruit, will be assembled and distributed to families each week/fortnight as your donations allow. We estimate that $40 Aust. will significantly help feed a family of 4 for a whole week. Local people will also be fishing if they’re well enough.
We will be asking for your financial help until people return to work and receive their first months’ pay. We absolutely understand if you yourself are not in a position to offer financial support, but we would really appreciate you sharing this on your facebook page and maybe an Aunty or Friend who loves Bali will want to give back.
