My name is Ashish, and I am a 19-year-old international student who came to the UK in 2025 with aspirations of building a better future through education.

Unexpectedly, my life took a devastating turn when I was diagnosed with lymphoma, a form of blood cancer. For the past month, I have been in the intensive care unit (ICU), undergoing treatment and fighting this life-threatening illness.

Until recently, my focus was on my studies and working towards my goals. Today, I am facing a challenging and uncertain journey, both physically and emotionally, as I continue to fight for my life.

My sister, who is also an undergraduate international student, is here with me and has been managing everything on her own. She has taken on the responsibility of supporting me daily while also handling all living expenses, including rent, travel, and other essential needs, as our parents are not present in the UK. Her strength and support have been invaluable during this incredibly difficult time.

I remain hopeful and determined to overcome this illness and continue pursuing my dreams.
