Help Amour Build a Better Future

My name is Roi Bantou, and I am the creator of Quiz de la Rue, a street quiz project based in Congo-Brazzaville.

Recently, I met a young man named Amour while filming one of our videos.

What started as a simple street quiz turned into a much deeper conversation. Amour and I spoke for around 45 minutes about his life, his experiences, his ambitions and the difficult circumstances he is currently living through.

He showed me where he sometimes spends his nights, and seeing the conditions he is facing affected me deeply.

But what stayed with me most was not simply his situation. It was his personality.

Amour is intelligent, well-spoken, full of life and still has ambitions for his future despite everything he has been through. He dreams of becoming a musician and, more importantly, he wants to build a better life for himself.

After meeting him, I promised him that I would try to help.

I am therefore creating this fundraiser to give Amour an opportunity to move forward and begin rebuilding his life with greater stability and dignity.

The funds raised will be used to support his immediate needs and, where possible, help him establish a more stable foundation for the future - including accommodation, food, clothing, personal necessities and support towards developing a sustainable source of income.

I want to be clear that this is not about presenting Amour as helpless. He has ambitions, personality and potential. The purpose of this fundraiser is to give him some of the support and opportunity that he currently lacks.

When I first met him, he thought I was the person helping him.

After spending time with him, I realised that he had helped me too.

His story reminded me to appreciate what I have, to remain hungry for what I want to achieve, and to never forget how quickly circumstances can change a person’s life.

Every contribution, no matter the amount, can make a difference.

I am the creator of Quiz de la Rue, a street quiz and entertainment project based in Congo-Brazzaville. Through Quiz de la Rue, I regularly give people the opportunity to win money simply by answering questions, and I have personally funded prizes and giveaways as part of the project.

These pages show the people we have met, the prizes we have given away and the work we are doing in communities in Congo.

This fundraiser is separate from the Quiz de la Rue prize money. The money raised here will be specifically intended to support Amour.

I will personally oversee the funds and make sure they reach Amour and are used for the purposes described in this fundraiser. I also intend to provide updates so that supporters can see how the money raised is helping him.

I am not asking people to simply take my word for it. I want you to be able to look at the work I have already been doing and make your own decision about whether you trust this fundraiser.
