Hi, my name is Amanda Readinger Canta and for all of you who do know me, may remember how much I smiled. It was a big part of my personality. I took great care of my dental hygiene but this unfortunately has nothing to do with looks or cosmetics.
In the fall of 2018, I was diagnosed with two autoimmune diseases. One called Sjorgens and the other is Rheumatoid Arthritis. For those of you who do not know what autoimmune is, its when your own body attacks it self. Sjogrens Syndrome is an autoimmune disease that happens when your immune system damages the glands that produce and control moisture in the body. It is chronic dryness of mouth and eyes. It feels like sand in my eyes. I can not cry. My mouth is so dry that i do not have saliva. You need saliva to help prevent cavities, decay and help to keep your mouth clean. Due to the lack of saliva and dryness, my teeth have rotted and decayed to the point where I only have a couple of teeth left. In 2021, I had five teeth pulled at once for the dentist to miss the infected tooth. It put me in the hospital for a few days with a drain made into under my chin. It has become very difficult to eat. I have cracked teeth over a peanut butter sandwich. This has been an absolute heart crushing journey as I slowly lose all of my teeth and my smile.
So, why not get dentures? Due to the dryness, I am not the best candidate for them. I am here to ask your help with obtaining full mouth implants. The next road block is obtaining funds in the amount of $50,000. I am in dire need of teeth since the only few teeth that I have left need to be pulled.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story! With love, happiness and peace!
