Hi, I am Vanessa Kara! I'm a professional soccer player and environmental engineer. I have had an amazing soccer career where I overcame a lot of adversity and learned a lot about myself and life. About 10 years ago I realized sport was less about achievement and more about becoming the best version of yourself and helping people. I am getting ready to say goodbye to a great playing career. I thought about a retirement party but it seems more important to give back.

Besides soccer my other big passion is clean water. Clean water should be a human right, yet about 1 in 10 people still do not have access to it worldwide. This seems crazy to me.. and wrong. We have the resources to make clean water available to every person on the planet. So, to give back, I want to give an ENTIRE COMMUNITY access to clean water.

I am teaming with Charity:Water, a charity that is transparent and gives 100% of your donations directly to clean water projects, to raise $6,000 for a clean water project. Raising water for a whole community is a dream of mine and I am calling on all of my supporters, family, and friends to help give me this last gift as I exit from my soccer career.

Thank you all!!
