More Information

Coppice Theatre will be returning to Truro Cathedral this December for a unique storytelling and grotto experience.

Father Christmas is hiding in his grotto somewhere in the Cathedral, and the elves need your help to find him.

As you explore the twists and turns of the Cathedral, look out for the Storytelling Cat and listen for the Cathedral Mouse, who has always dreamed of singing with the children in the choir. Could it be this Christmas that their dreams come true?
You will then get the chance to meet Father Christmas once his hiding place has been uncovered, where you will be able to tell him all about what you would like for Christmas and receive a gift.

Each show is 30 minutes long and requires walking between spaces and traversing staircases.

You will even have the opportunity to have your picture taken with Father Christmas. Photographs will then be available to purchase.

Note: Photography will take place during your visit, please let a member of staff know if you would prefer for you or your child not to be photographed.

A Personal Note From me

In a time where it is difficult for so many, I feel it’s more important than ever that children do not suffer. With your help I would like to give 50 children the experience of visiting Father Christmas as parents will be in a difficult position and it would be impossible to choose this over heating or food.

This initiative is arranged by Truro BID, delivered by Coppice Theatre, and hosted by Truro Cathedral. We must limit the numbers because it’s not just kids in poverty that deserve this wonderful experience, but we are unable to give it free to everyone.

With your help I would like to raise £400, and I will distribute the tickets via charities such as the Food Bank in Truro to people that would qualify.

If we raise more than £400, it will go to Truro Food Bank, specifically towards families with children, for the little extras that make Christmas special.

I’m doing this as myself, Steven. This is not an initiative by Truro City Council or in my role as Mayor of Truro.

We cannot solve all the problems that child poverty and this cost-of-living crisis is causing, but we can help a child to smile and give their parents a little relief.

Thank you, you are one of those that made a difference to someone today.

Steven
