Ginger Schulz Segner Cancer Fundraiser

Hi, my name is Melissa, and we are doing a fundraiser for Ginger Schulz Segner, who was diagnosed with Colon Cancer in July 2021. She has had part of her colon removed and undergone chemo. At her 1st, 3-month follow-up, it was discovered that the cancer had metastasized to her liver. The cancer is now Stage 4. She had an ablation done to her liver on July 21st this year. She has been told that the cancer is very aggressive, and she and the doctors will start an aggressive chemo regimen on August 8th.

Ginger needs our help as a community to keep her Cobra insurance in place as it runs just under $1000 a month.

If this Chemo does not work, then she will start clinical trials. Some are done at MD Anderson. The insurance she has now will cover the trials at MD Anderson; therefore, it is essential to keep her existing insurance.

Many of you know that Ginger has been very active in our community, including the ACTS community. It’s taken everything in her to agree to this fundraiser. If you know Ginger, she is very humble, so it has been hard for her to ask for help.
