If you’re reading this message, I’m sure you’ve had the wonderful experience of knowing
Gina Koehn. Ms. Koehn has taught Speech, English, and Oral Interpretation at Brandon Valley High School for 19 years and has been coaching Oral Interpretation for 30 years. Ms. Koehn is known for always being inspirational, inclusive, and encouraging, especially on the lives of many generations of students. Her footprint will never leave this community.
Unfortunately, Ms. Koehn is suffering from a large cyst that has developed in her back. Please use discretion when sharing this Go Fund Me as we don't know who's she's all told.
After suffering for months through the semester with intense, chronic pain and numerous doctor’s appointments, Ms. Koehn is undergoing surgery at The Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. With her intense pain and another successful yet stressful season of oral interpretation, Ms. Koehn has struggled to maintain her home.
Whilst in Rochester, a few of us former students alongside family members have agreed to help watch her beautiful girls, Bella and Sabrina, until she arrives home on Christmas Eve.
During this time, we plan on repairing essential fixtures and areas of her home that
need fixing in addition to cleaning her house as well. Hopefully, it will decrease her stress levels, take a little off her plate, and give her and her family a comfortable home to recover during this holiday season.
Whether Ms. Koehn was your teacher, your child’s teacher, your colleague, or your
friend, I hope you can appreciate the countless voices she’s amplified, the opportunities she’s created for her students, and her self-sacrificial work ethic as a single mother. Ms. Koehn always supports those around her. It’s time we all return the favor.
