Gil Kessler Has Left Us; His Widower Needs Help

I met Gil Kessler over twenty years ago, long after he had become a leading member of the world's leather and kink community. His work creating spaces like GMSMA and Delta is legendary, as are the thousands of us who benefitted directly from his teaching, his mentorship, or his generosity of spirit.

After years of decline due to Parkinson's Disease and Lewy's Body Dementia, Gil left us on June 5, 2022. Several years ago, my husband and I were delighted to join Gil and his husband Damani Moyd for their wedding, and it's on Damani's behalf that we're raising money today.

Those of us who knew Gil and Damani knew how much they loved each other. Whether hosting movie nights, or going to leather events, or even just around the community, they were a beautiful couple, supporting and giving everything to each other.

The last few years of Gil's life drained their resources. Damani's full-time job was taking care of him, and between medical costs, nursing, end-of-life and funeral expenses, there's little left. What is left is now trapped in probate for several months leaving Damani with nothing to live on or start to rebuild his own life.
