Gifting Back! Bringing Christmas to Kids Who Otherwise May Not Get It

Christmas is supposed to be a season of joy, warmth, and giving, but for too many kids in our community, it can be just another reminder of what they don’t have. That’s why we started Gifting Back, a community give-back program hosted by Renew Exterior Lighting.

This isn’t your typical donation drive. With Gifting Back, we actually go shopping with the children, not just for them. Each child receives $250 to spend, split evenly between toys and necessities. But what really makes this special is the experience itself. You get to meet the kids, see their smiles, hear their laughter, and help them pick out the things that will brighten their Christmas morning and make their daily lives a little easier.

Many of the children are handpicked by local school counselors, who choose kids that are truly in need, kids who might not otherwise have a Christmas at all. Every child is accompanied by their guardian, and every moment is filled with connection, kindness, and the true spirit of giving.

We’ve seen firsthand how this experience changes not just the children, but everyone involved. You walk away realizing that the joy of Christmas isn’t in what you receive, it’s in what you give.

This year, we’re inviting our friends, family, and community to join us. Whether you can give $5 or $500, every dollar goes directly to helping sponsor a child and make their Christmas possible.
