I'm Jonny Gibson, and I'm gearing up for an epic challenge on December 17th. I'll be running across Grand Cayman, from Starfish Point to Pappagallo in West Bay, with a purpose beyond personal growth.
The theme of this year's World Mental Health Day, "Making Mental Health a Priority," resonates with me deeply, as it was the catalyst for my own journey into the world of running. I understand the struggles that come with mental health issues, having faced my own battles in the past. I know what it feels like to be lost, isolated, and even ashamed while seeking help. However, I've also come to realize that help is available, and seeking it is a sign of strength, not weakness.
Running has been my refuge, a time when I can clear my mind, focus on my breathing, and be fully present in the moment. It's become more than just a physical exercise; it's a crucial component of maintaining my mental and physical well-being.
That's why I've taken on this challenge—to raise funds and awareness in support of the Alex Panton Foundation, a local charity dedicated to supporting the mental health of young people in the Cayman Islands. The foundation's three pillars—awareness, advocacy, and support—aim to provide essential resources to friends, family, teachers, classmates, and caregivers, with the goal of saving the lives of children and young adults struggling with mental illness.
By supporting my fundraising efforts, you can join me in making a difference in the lives of those who may be suffering. You can help them understand that they are not alone and that help is within reach. No donation is too small; every contribution will have a significant impact.
Together, we can break the stigma surrounding mental health and ensure that those in need receive the support and care they deserve.

Thank you in advance for your generous support.
