This is the absolute first attempt at any kind of organized fundraising I have personally been talked with. It appears as a divine hand has inspired me to put this structure in place. While GHI is a private charitable foundation, we have never embarked on a semi-public affair. However, this is the result of a series of devastating events. While Thomas knows of my out of the box legal strategies, he has never felt compelled to make that leap forward. Hopefully through the strength of our local community and my legal friends we can assist in anyway needed. Here is a brief rundown of what has transpired.

Help Thomas Rebuild His Life After Tragedy

Six months ago, Thomas was living a normal life—raising his three children, working hard, and doing his best to provide a stable home. Then, everything changed in an instant.

A devastating house fire destroyed the family home, displacing Thomas and his children. As if that loss wasn’t enough, the emotional toll fractured his marriage, and his wife filed for divorce shortly afterward.

In the months since, Thomas has done everything he could to hold things together—but this week brought another crushing blow. He learned that the fire insurance on the home won’t cover the damages due to a lapse in coverage—caused not by Thomas, but by an error during a refinancing agreement eight months ago. That means the home is a total loss, and no help is coming from the insurance company any time soon.

Thomas is now homeless and emotionally overwhelmed. He’s struggling with deep despair, and he urgently needs a lifeline.

We’re raising funds to help Thomas:

Secure temporary housing and basic needs

Afford legal and mental health support

Begin rebuilding a safe, stable future for himself and his children
