My name is Ghassan Albes, a Palestinian from Gaza who has survived several wars and is hopeful of surviving the current ongoing war to care for his three children: Joan (3 years old), Yamen (5 years old), Dana (3 years old), and a newborn baby.

The continuous bombings since October 7th, 2023, have rendered every place in Gaza unsafe. I had to evacuate with my family to the southern part of the Gaza Strip, facing dire conditions without electricity, access to clean water, or sufficient food. We have evacuated in our quest for a safer location, yet there is no safe place in the Gaza Strip. Currently, we (my wife, my kids, and I) are staying in a 15m2 tent, which sadly does not protect us from the cold or the burning sun. Every day, we have to line up for a long time to be able to use a bespoke ‘toilet’. Furthermore, I am constantly occupied searching for a bit of food and water to ensure the survival of my family.

My wife and I worked very hard for several years to buy an apartment in Gaza. We thought that we would happily live there together with our three children. However, all our dreams were shattered when our home was recently been bombed and destroyed. So, I would like your help to help me rebuild my apartment, so my kids can have a shelter after the war. In my circumstances, every penny is crucial, so I am grateful for any help you can provide.
