From the Chair: A Journey of Healing and Homecoming

My name is Lyn T. and as the chair of the 2025 Whuti Tɔtrɔyeye Festival, this deeply meaningful festival, I invite you to join us on a truly transformative experience—a healing journey back to our ancestral roots, this October 2025! This initiative is more than just a trip; it's a profound step towards encouraging the integration of Blacks throughout the African Diaspora with their inherent royal and ancestral land. For too long, the threads connecting us to our heritage have been frayed, and for many, the path to healing from historical injustices remains elusive. This festival is designed to mend those threads, fostering a sense of belonging, identity, and profound connection, and to help develop technological advances for the youth.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: The Community Project that has been selected is the development of an information and communication technology lab (ICT) that will serve the students and greater members of the community. This a great need to help propel young people forward especially in education.

Our total goal is to raise $20,000 which includes the purchase of the following items for the information and computer technology lab for students:

• 15 laptops
• 30 monitors
• 2 projectors
• 30 computer tables and chairs
• internet router and switches
• 1 smart board
• Ethernet internet cables 2 and 3
• software and licenses
• 2 photocopiers with printer and scanner

We've chosen to partner with the Anlo Kingdom in the Volta Region of Ghana as our starting point, a place rich with history and vibrant culture. What sets this journey apart are three unique, impactful activities. Firstly, we are privileged to be partnered with HRM Togbi (King) Nyaho Tamakloe VI, a partnership that ensures the smooth and authentic implementation of our mission. Secondly, we will facilitate the paths to education about this great land, historical healing, and settlement within Anlo Kingdom, offering a tangible path for Black African diaspora members interested in permanent integration. This isn't just about visiting; it's about establishing a lasting connection. Finally, this journey includes a delegation of justice-involved individuals, offering them a unique opportunity for healing, perspective, and a renewed sense of purpose and belonging that extends beyond their past experiences.
