Want to help me make a difference?
My name is Julie Parker; I am a Registered Nurse and formerly worked at Mount Nittany Medical Center on the Women and Children's Unit in State College, PA. While there, I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Dr. Owusu, President of Ghana Medical Relief. Three years ago, I first volunteered with Ghana Medical Relief, where I served with over 60 other volunteers during their annual medical missions to Ghana, West Africa. Unfortunately, the trip in 2020 was canceled, but the organization was proud to make the trip in 2021 and ready to head back in just a few weeks at the end of July.
Now in existence since 2011, Ghana Medical Relief, a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization (EIN #27-4066550), has historically donated medical equipment and supplies to hospitals and clinics in Ghana. In the last three years, they have expanded their program to serve people directly - they have served over 8500 patients during their medical missions. Together we will hold a comprehensive clinic to provide services in the following areas of specialization: Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Urology, Dentistry, General Surgery, and a Pharmacy, where we provide free medications. These missions are exciting and rewarding for all involved - for additional information about the organization and upcoming events, please visit the website at http://www.ghanamedicalrelief.com. The website will allow you to experience firsthand the pride we take in supporting this cause.
Our mission is to provide free healthcare services at an underprivileged village in Ghana. Last year in Atibie, we served over 3500, and we were also able to provide CPR training at a local nursing school. The above picture is of a boy name Abrahm. When he came to us, he was severely malnourished. We helped get him admitted for inpatient treatment and provided support and resources for his family to have what they needed to continue improving his health.
You can donate to me directly here. Since GMR is a federally registered 591(c), all donations made directly to them are tax deductible.
