Hi everyone!

My name is Aimee. If you know me, you know that traveling and exploring the world is my absolute passion. But for my next journey, I wanted to do something far more meaningful than just sightseeing and beaches.

Last year, during a trip to South Africa, I visited a local crèche in a very deprived community. It was an experience that stayed with me long after I returned home.

The children had very little yet they were full of joy, laughter, and excitement. Their happiness was infectious, and the warmth they showed me as a visitor was incredibly moving. Of all the amazing experiences I had on that trip, including incredible safaris and other once in a lifetime adventures, that visit to the crèche was by far the most memorable.

While we were there, we visited a local shop and bought essential items to donate. Seeing the excitement on their faces of both the staff and the children over simple things, like receiving a lolly pop, was truly humbling. It was a powerful reminder of how much we often take for granted and sparked something in me. From that moment, I knew I wanted to return to Africa one day and volunteer in a community where I could make a meaningful contribution.

Now, a year later, that goal has become a reality. I have booked a month long trip to Accra, Ghana, this October and November, where I will be volunteering in a local school and childcare centre. I am incredibly excited for the opportunity to support the children, learn from the local community, and immerse myself in a completely different way of life. I know it will be a challenging, rewarding, and life-changing experience, and I cannot wait to begin this new chapter.

To try and make a difference, I have set up a GoFundMe to help provide basic necessities for children during my trip to Ghana, while also supporting the local community(Please note that my trip and flights have been fully funded by myself). 100% of all donations received will go directly towards purchasing resources and essentials for the children and the school.

How Your Donations Will Be Used:

Every penny raised through this page will be spent on purchasing resources for the children when I arrive in Ghana. I will personally deliver these items and share updates, photos, and videos here and on my social media pages to show exactly how your donations are making a difference and to raise awareness of how even small contributions can have a big impact.
