Good evening, family and friends:

February 5 was one of the scariest days of my life. I returned home from work to receive a phone call from UC Davis Hospital, stating that my father had been brought in via ambulance. In a state of shock, I rushed to the hospital to find my father badly banged up. His eyes swollen shut and stitches placed in various places on his face. The healthcare professionals had no explanation as to what events led to my father being harmed and my father had no recollection as to what transpired in the hours before. All he could remember, was getting off of work and heading home. With no answers, all I could do was cry. To make a bad situation worse, the healthcare providers were extremely unprofessional and insisted that my father would be ready to return to work tomorrow! How is this possible or even humane when his eyes are swollen shut? His employer was equally unsympathetic and stated that he would need to show up for his shift on Sunday or Face possible termination even with the doctors note. I’m reaching out in hopes that you all can help my father through this very difficult time. I’d like HIs focus to be on healing and I’m hoping we can come together to assist him with his financial responsibilities while he has no income. This is not a time for gossip or grudges.
