The issues began surfacing several months ago. Initially, we thought that her problems centered around vermin getting into and possibly destroying interior surfaces and wiring in her walls. The problem was, we couldn't identify their points of entry except to note that every floor near the baseboard and every overhead seam (closets, etc.) seemed to be gapping away from it's neighboring wall. As weeks passed and the fight against the vermin was being lost, the gaps seemed to be increasing in size. At this same time, there were some obvious sags in the roof of the main house that were increasing daily and the garage roof was sagging to the point that the door was not functioning and the internal framing had to be propped up with additional 2x4 boards. Eventually, the sag or movement of the garage forced the city of Longview to cut power for the strain that it was putting on the power line.
Amber has had one inspection done since the purchase of her home. One inspection was done prior to the initial purchase and the second done in 2017 prior to a refinance to consolidate some of her debt. Neither of these inspections seemed to produce findings that would explain the problems that have since made themselves known.
At this time, we are seeking a little bit of help that Amber might meet and potentially retain a local real estate attorney. The initial meeting will be at a cost of $800. It is our hope that someone will be able to come up with a solution that will allow Amber to either have the repairs done that will make her home safe and habitable; or allow her to move forward without the burden of a home repossession or a bankruptcy.
If you are unable to financially help Amber with her legal expenses, please keep she and her boys in your prayers as they are in this season of transition. Also, if you or someone you know has been in any sort of similar situation, please reach out to Amber directly on social media. Any advice or encouragement is greatly appreciated.
Amber has been through a lot in her lifetime. Although some of her struggles have come at her own hand, she has also fought to maintain a level of dignity and fight that would make her boys and family proud of her. For those that know Amber personally, you know that she would give a stranger the shirt off her back...a trait that has both helped and hindered her in the past. Please join us in standing with Amber and joining this fight with her. No one that has worked as hard as Amber has should have her home taken from her as a result of a situation that is out of her control. Thank you again for taking the time to read more about this situation and for your donations and prayers!!
Please feel free to contact myself or Amber via social media as well.
She’s not only my family but my friend as well❤️
