Help a family flee human trafficking

A few weeks ago I met a mother of 2 young boys who is fleeing human trafficking.   Her story is gut wrenching. She is from out of state and has used all of her money to get as far away from the people who abused her children as she could. She and her 2 children have been living day to day in homeless shelters and hotels.  Unfortunately because of the abuse her children have suffered they feel terrified of crowded homeless shelters.  These children have endured pain and suffering most of us cannot imagine.  They need stability. They need a home.   Being in a shelter does not provide a safe space for them to heal. I am helping her reach out to local charities who specialize in these types of tramatic situations to try to find a more stable and permanent housing option for her, but these things take time, and these children deserve to be safe with a roof over their heads while we work this out.  Because they are from out of state they also have a waiting period before they can claim any food assistance from the state.  The funds collected here will be used by me to keep them safe in a hotel, and provide food, clothing, desperately needed car maintenance while we work on the long term goal of getting them back on their feet and rebuilding their lives.
