I’d like to begin by thanking you for your time, interest, and consideration in this matter, as I work to help my sister resolve her immediate crisis, and establish a sustainable support plan going forward. My special-needs sister, Adrianne, and her husband, Charles, are at serious risk of losing their home. I’m trying to raise $5,000 by January 1st to cover their overdue mortgage and utility bills so they can avoid foreclosure.

Adrianne and Charles are two of the most hardworking and selfless people I know. They both live with intellectual disabilities, which unfortunately has made them vulnerable to scams and predatory financial companies. Over the past year, Adrianne lost her job and fell victim to multiple scams, setting off a chain reaction that pushed them behind on every major bill. Their home—one of the few stable things they have—is now in foreclosure despite their best efforts and multiple refinances.

Adrianne and I were adopted and grew up in foster care and abusive homes. We don’t have any other family who can step in. I’m doing everything I can to get them long-term support, but I live out of state, and the resources they qualify for will take months to process administratively and be put into place. Right now, the most urgent need is simply keeping them housed and safe.

If you’re able to give, no matter the amount, it would mean the world to our family. You’ll be helping two genuinely kind, vulnerable people keep the roof over their heads and giving them the chance to rebuild without losing everything they own.
