Hey everyone! I'm at a very emotionally drained point on this journey and realized it is ok to ask others for help.

My sister is 14 years older than me but she and I have always been close. My dad and 2 yr old brother were killed when I was 6 years old and our mother battled to overcome the depression and lost. We watched our mother struggle with addiction. My sister was always my safe space and I was able to live with her and her husband when things got bad. It seemed she was always able to pick up the pieces of my shattered life and be so strong.

In 2009 our mother was shot and burned alive in my childhood home. I'm 19 when this happens. Over the next few years my sister begins to lose her way but continues on with life up until this point where burnout, heavy depression, suicidal thoughts and alcohol have consumed her.

She was a functioning mother and registered nurse until 2 weeks ago when she received a diabetes diagnosis. Since then she has isolated herself, stopped eating and is finally crying for help. I can not lose her just because we can't afford to get her the proper medical attention/help she needs. Even with her insurance mental health treatment is completely unaffordable.

Please, if you can, help us get her the treatment she needs and get her life back on track.
