Delivery Food & Supplies To Elderly In Oregon

Hi there, 

I began this campaign with the mindset that I would be able to help a portion of the Salem, Oregon community during the coronavirus pandemic. However, I was completely unprepared for the response I have received. And if we’re being honest here, I am also not financially equipped to supply, Salem, Oregon in its entirety. If I continue to go at this rate pulling from my own personal funds, I don’t see that going too well for me in the end, no matter how good it feels to help those who need it most. I am asking for any spare change you are able to donate to this go fund me page in order to continue to supply the elderly population with these much needed goods. 

Right now our care bags delivered free of charge to elderly 65+, consist of one bunch of bananas, one half gallon of milk, one dozen eggs, two toilet paper rolls individually wrapped (1000 sheets on each roll) and an assortment of snacks and  canned food supplies.  At this rate it has cost me $75 a day to put together these care bags that are able to feed and supply up to 22 people (which is the amount of people I am able to drive around to and deliver in an 8 hour period of time.) I for-see the amount we are able to deliver to, climbing in the next week or so as more people continue volunteering their time and effort. However, if my math is done correctly we are able to feed and supply 110 people per week. I am asking for a donation of $500 to start with. Here is a break down of where your money will go, $375 total for 5 days of delivery to 22 people or more per day. 3% is taken out by the go fund me platform for each donation made, and $93.70 held out for taxes on every $500, as I will have to pay taxes on any and all money contributed to this cause. Please also be aware that I can supply each individual with a receipt for their donation, however I have confirmed with Oregon Justice/Charity, that it is not eligible for tax deductions. Please also be aware that Capital Senior Services is not filed as a Non Profit Organization or Charity, however we are a business entity performing a charitable cause.

I am extremely thankful for the number of volunteers that have reached out to me and are working around the clock to get supplies as quickly as they can to the vast number of you who have messaged me. 

I know that right now times are crazy but please hang in there everyone. This will come to pass soon!

March 18th, 2019

I am extremely pleased to announce that we have met our $500 goal for this week. I am continuing to receive numerous messages asking to donate to this cause so I thought I would raise the bar to $1,000 to take us through to next week. Today was day four of this cause, and between myself and three other volunteers, we have so far been able to feed and supply 98 homes in Salem, Oregon. I for-see that by next week, if not sooner, these individuals will be running low on supplies once again. As messages continue to pour in, we are doing all we can to get to each and every person in need. So once again, I ask you, if you are able to make a donation, big or small, food or paper products, time or energy, anything at this time is of extreme help. I plan to see this pandemic to the end, and will continue to make every effort to see to it that Salem’s seniors or cared for.
